Following is a condensed version of my policies.  You will be given a full version at time of interview

HOURS OF CARE:

5:45 AM-5:20 PM (earlier hours may be available, but need to be previously agreed upon)

LATE/EARLY FEES:

There will be a fee of $5 for every 15 minutes or portion thereof a child is picked up or dropped off
outside the agreed upon time.

ENROLLMENT:

All paperwork needs to be completed PRIOR to the first day in care. This is required by the State of
Kansas.

DEPOSITS and ENROLLMENT FEE

A deposit is what will hold your child’s spot.  Deposits are non-refundable, but are applied towards
your child’s first week of care.
In addition, there is a one time enrollment fee of $25.  If you are enrolling a 2nd child, the
enrollment fee for that child is $10

HOLIDAYS:

In order for you to spend quality time with your child, and me with mine, I will not provide child care
for ANY LEGAL HOLIDAY unless BOTH parents have to work. There will, however, be no exception
for the following, which I will be closed:

All holidays  are to be paid if your child is enrolled for full time care.  If one of the above listed
holidays fall on a Saturday, I will be closed the Friday before, therefore, payment will be due on
Thursday.  Likewise, if the holiday falls on a Sunday, I will be closed the following Monday.

PAYMENT:

Payment is due in advance on Fridays.   Child care will not be rendered unless payment has been
made.
Payment is the same EVERY WEEK, regardless of child absenteeism, closed holidays or vacations
(yours and mine).  Non payment is cause for immediate termination.
If you are receiving child care subsidy through SRS,  payments need to be made by the 5th of each
month prior to 6:00 PM.  You are responsible for any fees not covered by SRS.

RETURNED CHECKS:

There will be a fee of $25 for the first returned check, and child care will not be provided until fee is
made. If a 2nd check is returned unpaid, I will require your fees to be paid IN CASH from then on.
Payments will still be in advance.

VACATION:

I may choose to take up to 10 vacation days per year.  This may be taken not more than one week
at a time, and up to two weeks for the entire year.  I will almost always give a minimum of two weeks
notice when I choose to take a vacation, however, I may take up to 3 emergency days per year
without a two week notice. I will still do the best I can to give you plenty of time to find substitute care.
I think you’ll find my child care services to be very reliable.  I’ve only taken a full week
vacation twice in a 20 years.  If and when I do take a vacation day, it will almost always be
on either a Friday or a Monday, and you’ll have a minimum of 2 weeks notice.

MEALS:

Meals and snacks will be eaten at eating areas only.  Children will not be allowed to carry food,
bottles, drinks, etc. though the house.  ALL CANDY, GUM, FRUIT, DRINKS, ETC. NEED TO BE
FINISHED BEFORE ENTERING MY PREMISES and CHILD’S HANDS AND FACE NEED TO BE
CLEAN and FREE FROM FOOD.  I won’t send your child home with food on his/her face, and I
expect you to send them to me in the same manner.

BREAKFAST:  Served to children NO LATER THAN to 7:45 AM (if children arrive at or after 7:45,
they need to have had breakfast at home)
LUNCH:  11:30
Snack:  3:30

NAPS/REST TIME

Children will be required to take a nap/rest time after lunch.  Children may NOT be dropped off at
nap time. PLEASE TRY NOT TO DISTURB NAP TIMES BY PICKING CHILDREN UP AT NAP TIME.
This disturbs everyone’s sleep.  Should you find you MUST pick your child up during this time
(doctor visits, etc.) , please let me know ahead of time, and call me when you pull up to my house.  I
will meet you outside with your child.  Our normal nap/rest time is 12:30-2:30 or 1:00-3:00,
depending upon the age of the children enrolled.  If school aged children are enrolled, they may
read, color or some other quite activity during naptime.   All children, unless school age, will be
required to have a quite rest time.

TOYS/OBJECTS

All personal toys and objects need to be left at home.  I supply an adequate number of safe,
educational toys. Please make sure your child does not have coins, rocks, etc. in their pockets, as
these can cause serious harm to small children

ARRIVAL TIME:

Children need to be dressed and ready for the day upon arrival.  This includes having on the
clothing the child will wear for the day, with properly fitted clothing and shoes.

SUPPLIES:

Until your child is completely potty trained, parent shall supply an adequate supply of disposable
diapers and baby wipes.  NAMES NEED TO BE ON ALL PACKAGES OF WIPES AND DIAPERS

ALL CHILDREN need to bring quilt-type blanket, large enough to keep child’s body off of rest mat.
All children under kindergarten age need a complete set of clothing left at my home.  I don’t require
(nor does the State require) clothing to be left for children kindergarten and over, but it’s a good
idea.  I don’t want to have to call you to pick up your child or bring him/her a change of clothing in
case o a spill.

SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN:

ALL CHILDREN, including younger/older siblings, need to stay with the parent at all times when
dropping off or picking up.

ILLNESSES:

Children who are ill need to stay home.  If your child becomes ill while in my care, I will call you and
you must IMMEDIATELY pick your child up from daycare.  IMMEDIATELY MEANS WITHIN 30
MINUTES or safe driving time.  I understand you may need to call your child’s doctor, but that can
be done AFTER the child is out of my care and away from the other children.   If your child has
been to the doctor for a virus, etc, a statement saying SPECIFICALLY that your child does not have
a viral or bacterial infection, and not just that your child may return to day care, will be needed
Children that have had
diarrhea, vomiting, or has had a fever of 101 or above, shall not
return to daycare for a period of 24 hours from the last episode of the above, and must be
symptom free.  Likewise,
children on antibiotics shall remain out of day care until they are
on antibiotics for a period of 24 hours and are symptom free, unless it is a known ear
infection (doctors statement required) and your child feels well enough to be at daycare.

I CANNOT ACCEPT CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN SENT HOME FROM SCHOOL DUE TO ILLNESS

ABSENTEEISM:

If your child will be absent, I expect a phone call or an email to  let me know so I know how to plan
for the day (meals, crafts, worksheets to be printed, etc.).  You don’t have to wait until 7:00 AM to
all.  I am usually up no later than  5:00 AM, so don’t worry about calling too early.  I don’t mind
having calls on weekends or evenings (for absenteeism reports or otherwise).  I have voice mail, so
if I’m not available, please leave a message.  If your child will not be present for breakfast, please
let me know by 7:15 AM.
You can contact me by either calling or emailing me.
HOME NUMBER:  688-1435
EMAIL:  amazing tots@yahoo.com    (please do not forward jokes)

TOILET TRAINING:

Toilet training is encouraged for children 2 years of age and older. Children will not be forced in
any way but will be encouraged with praise.

.
DISCIPLINE POLICY:

Caring for children is my profession and I take my responsibility to your child very seriously.  I will, to
the best of my ability, help guide, nurture, and teach them as they grow.  I will treat your child with
sincere love and dignity, but will require him/her to follow my leadership and yours.  I will reward
cooperation and positive behavior by offering my attention, affection, and verbal praise, and will
choose carefully the matters which are worthy of confrontation.

Children who are about to engage or are engaged in an unwanted activity will be redirected or be
distracted with an alternative activity.  I use time out sparingly, however, I extreme cases, such as
biting, spitting, hitting, and/or hair pulling, a child of at least 24 months will be put in time out (the
naughty corner) for a period of one minute for each year of the child’s age (I.e. 3 minutes for a 3
year old).  Time outs will be used ONLY after the child has been given the opportunity to stop the
behavior.  If child has hurt another child (biting, pulling hair, etc.), I ask the child to apologize to the
offended child and “give them love”, which means giving them a hug or otherwise making amends,
once they are removed from time out.   If we are outdoors, ‘time out’ means they will sit on the step
for the period described above.  In our room, time out is in the corner by the tornado room door.
Children are not put towards their faces towards the wall, but are sat comfortably on their
bottoms.

TERMINATION:

Within the first 30 days of child care, either party (you or myself) may decide to terminate child care
without a notice.  After the initial 30 day period, if either party finds  child care must be terminated,
for whatever reason,  a two week notice shall be given.  By enrolling your child in Amazing Tots, you
are agreeing to abide by the policies within.
